Camping in Ak

We did get the chance to do a camping trip.. Here in the background is Mt Mckinley, and thats about as close as we got. Sorry it's not a better pic.
Our camping spot!! You can't really tell, but we had to cut some bushes down to even clear a spot for our tent. We then got awoken the next morning by some huge animal about ten feet away. We kept making noise and eventually scared it away.. And i'm pretty glad I never found out what it was.
This waterfall is called bridal veil falls. Random, but pretty.

Valdez

The view of the ocean from the town. It was freeeezing!
Oh, i forgot to say I won the fishing competition by catching a 325 lb halibut. Fish anyone?

My love

On September 9th it was Taylor and my 2 year anniversary!! I can't believe it has flown by so fast!! I can't believe how lucky I am to have such a GREAT guy in my life. He is such a positive, happy guy that always keeps me on my toes with new adventures and fun. He will kill me but I had to put up these pictures because he is so dang cute. I love you Tay!!

My cakes!

Yes, the ever famous cakes I have been doing up here in Alaska. Now, I know i'm going to have an overwhelming flood of posts of people that want me to re-create the clown cake, but I'm sorry to say, it was a once in a lifetime miracle. This one was pretty exciting for me, It was a bunch of roses, and roses are pretty freakin' hard to do! So even though you don't appreciate it, I was proud.

This was one I made last week and it was with fondant, which I am very excited to be learning to use. Its actually super easy and always looks pretty cute, it just tastes nasty, so I need to find a better recipe.

More trip pics..

So this is what Ak looks like from our house in Fairbanks, at about 2:00 am. Very pretty!
This lake was also in Canada, and of the 1,000 lakes we saw, we loved this one the most. It was called Muncho lake, and though you can't tell it was a very cool green color.
I lied, we got a picture of a moose.

Wellll. It's time for me to get this going I suppose, since I have four whole people who look at it!! Im keeping it short and sweet. These pics are from our trip from SALT LAKE up to ALASKA! The first day was driving and we stopped in Idaho for the night. Nothing crazy, just exciting to get on the road. This first pic is when we arrived in Seattle. We planned it for my b-day to be there and it was really neat. (minus the fact i locked the keys in the car and Tay had to jimmy rig it for an hour or so!!) We went to Pikes market and walked all over town. Tay got me a chocolate cake for breakfast! -YUM- and I got a hot dog for lunch. My favorite! This pic is from the pier and it was very beautiful there, but we had to get going with the trip, and so off we went again about 5 in the afternoon.

These two pictures were from the signpost forest in a very random town in Canada but there were literally THOUSANDS of homeade signs, so of course we ghetto'd one up with pie plates and a piece of wood and left our mark! If I didn't mention it before, we slept in hotels the first 2 nights and camped the rest of the four days, so i'm looking a little scary, but a very cool (cold !) experience.

This was our second bear that we had seen, and we saw a couple more. We also saw (but didn't catch pictures of: fox, buffalo, eagles, tons of moose and some funny looking birds that run on the ground. I think we saw more, but i can't rememeber. That last picture of the mountains and waterfalls cracks me up cuz we just thought it was soo pretty and had to take a picture, this was right into Canada, little did we know that this is what it looks like for another 1500 miles!! Who thought you could get sick of trees, lakes and waterfalls??!
